This free 2-hour training is perfect for anyone who is interested in learning about the Strengthening Families Framework. Strengthening Families is an approach that builds on the strengths of the family and provides caregivers the tools they need to raise strong children and build strong families. Participants will be introduced to the Strengthening Families Five Protective Factors: Social Connections, Concrete Support in Times of Need, Parental Resilience, Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development, and Social and Emotional Competence of Children. This training is funded through the Michigan Department of Education Office of Great Start Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant.

Care Giving Conversations

This is a free 10-hour training offered to actively billing unlicensed child care providers and the families who use these providers for care. Providers earn training hours to become a level two provider. The Care Giving Conversations training series is designed to support parents and their care providers to build stronger relationships with each other by learning about the Strengthening Families Protective Factors and participating in meaningful conversations that promote connection and trust. In each of the five part Care Giving Conversations trainings, participants will learn about one Protective Factor, how it can help to strengthen their family and help them access the supports and services needed to address their family’s needs. This training is funded through the Michigan Department of Education Office of Great Start Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant.
